This project evolves around the inspirations that initially emerged in image form. And non-conventional music-makings will be undertaken focusing on creating the better course of "future" history, casting our visions toward and forward in reflection of the past. The Womb Pond

The womb is a reproductive organ, a controversial place of gender equality, invaded, recovered, yet most importantly creative. The multiple layers of its meanings combined make The Womb Pond. In this composition, the womb becomes the birthplace of vocal sounds and words that signify the signified thus can be communicated at large as the sonic utterance becomes shaped into a more solid form.

This powerful organ is full of potential creative energy hidden in sight to be restored and to regain its true stance through this composition. This piece is particularly dedicated to the “Comfort Women” and their untainted dignity.

The Sacrifice

The Sewol Ferry accident in 2014, manmade calamity which could have been avoided or reduced in size, shook the entire Korean peninsular as among many others, one high school lost its entire class of over 250 students. This traumatic event marked every single person’s life and consciousness in the country. And it triggered a series of demonstrations called “Candlelight Revolution”, massive yet the most peaceful civil movement in history, which proceed to the impeachment and the arrest of the former President who engaged in several unlawful activities against the constitutional law. The music is to commemorate the souls we lost in the accident, family members and their friends who still suffer from their loss. And it is my musical pledge that we remember and work diligently for better society.

Yellow Lake and the Magnetic Fields

This piece sets the world before it manifests with variety in forms with meanings or logos. It is the pool of unshaped force and source of creation. Or, it is the shield or the magnetic field surrounding the Earth for its creations and living beings on the planet. The yin energy, or the Earth, then pulls and invites the more explicit expressions.
